Richard H. Chantelau

Richard H. Chantelau, 66, of Sellersville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2009 in Doylestown Hospital. He and his wife Ruth L. (Fairfield) Chantelau celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in June Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Everett R. and Florence B. (Howard) Chantelau. He graduated from the Central Bucks High School Class of 1961 and then from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. He was ordained to the ministry and then along with his wife served as missionaries to Kenya, Africa in the 1970’s. He worked with Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, FL, and also served on the board of directors of Mission Project Fellowship. Mr. Chantelau was a revenue investigator for the Commonwealth of PA for 25 years prior to his retirement in January, 2009. He was previously employed by Bucks County Bank. Mr. Chantelau was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Sellersville where he served as an Adult Bible Fellowship director and teacher. An avid reader and cornet player, he also had the gift of writing, including poetry, and sent many cards and letters to missionaries and others. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Richard A. Chantelau and his wife Audra of Quakertown, Robert A. Chantelau and his wife Denise of Boyertown, a daughter, Renee A. Ault and her husband Calvin of Lansing, MI, five grandchildren, two brothers: David A. Chantelau and his wife Carol of Millersville, and George E. Chantelau and his wife Sandra of Souderton. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11 AM in Faith Baptist Church, 700 N. Main St., Sellersville. Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Mission Project Fellowship, Box 209, Telford, PA 18969. Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford.
